After an extensive beta with plenty of feedback and lots of fine tuning, we are extending Recurly's basic tax support for Canada, Australia, New Zealand and Israel to be generally available with no additional fees. This allows your business to collect taxes from these regions all from your existing Recurly site.
To enable new tax regions, simply go to the taxes configuration section to select the countries where you need to collect taxes. If your customer's location is in a taxable region, then Recurly will apply the appropriate taxes to the invoice and transaction. The tax rate and tax logic are provided by our tax partner, Avalara. This update comes on the heels of our recent direct Avalara AvaTax integration, which is available for those business requiring more advanced tax needs.
We’re also planning a major update to our EU VAT support that will be coming later this year. Most importantly Recurly will be complaint with the VAT 2015 regulations that go into effect on January 1, 2015. Stay tuned for more updates!
