As businesses grow, moving beyond their home locale is often one of the milestones of expansion. Global expansion often requires a considerable amount of planning including research into regions and payment methods best suited for a business’s needs as well as evaluating and choosing the right partners to help them achieve these goals. As a leader in subscription billing and management, Recurly supports these needs by adding partner integrations that enable merchants to unlock new regions to acquire and delight customers.

Currency Parity Across Gateways

Hot on the heels of our new GoCardless integration, we're also continually evaluating our existing gateway integrations to ensure each one offers the features and functionality needed to provide our merchants the competitive advantage to succeed in their respective industries. Part of that includes assisting global expansion, which we support by providing currency parity across our gateway integrations.

How is Recurly providing currency parity?

We currently support 30 currencies to provide our merchants with the ability to offer a more localized payment experience to their customers. As part of our ongoing efforts, we’ve compared this existing list of 30 currencies with the currencies supported by each of our gateway integrations and undergone efforts to improve those integrations with additional currency support. The new currencies can be seen below, with additional enhancements coming soon:

Update: as of August 2020, Recurly supports over 140 currencies.

What’s next?

We look forward to making sure our merchants are equipped with the best tools to engage and retain their customers. To do this, we’re evaluating the potential addition of several new currencies and payment methods. These currencies include TWD, TRY, BOB, CRC, GTQ, MYR, PAB, PYG, PEN, PHP, UYU, BGN, HRK, HNL, IDR, NGN, PKR, RON, SAR, LKR, and VND as well as the China UnionPay, Dankort, and Cartes Bancaires card brands.
