E-commerce drives retail growth in China

By all accounts, the world of e-commerce keeps expanding. A case in point is China: despite a sluggish economy overall, e-commerce is a primary driver of retail sales growth there. In 2014, China’s e-commerce sales as a percentage of GDP overtook the US’s for the first time, accounting for $439 billion, or 7%, of the country’s GDP, as reported by CardNotPresent.com. This figure compares to only 6% in the U.S. These findings are based on a recent report from the China Internet Network Information Center.
